Topic 7:
Alexandre Pope once said, "A man should never be
ashamed to own he has been in the wrong, which is but saying, in other
words, that he is wiser today than he was yesterday." Do we learn more
from finding out that we have made mistakes or from our successful
actions? Why?
As an old saying goes "All progresses is experimental,". These progress generally could result in either successful or failure actions. Many people hold a common belief that we learn from our mistakes more than successes.
Failure - is the result of unwell and/or unthoughtfully taken
actions or planing in which man is the object holding responsible for.
By investigating a failure causes and effects, man could learns
valuable lessons from which they offer. For instance, bitter feelings
of being defeated in a soccer game could show the coach a weakness in his tactics or strategies. A student who fails in an exam would realize how much work he needs to put into the training and to fill the knowledge gap to be able to pass the retake. In a business company, when the sales goes down, a marketing plan should be revised, any related sales policy, pricing and salespeople should also be scrutinized carefully by its sales department.
In most cases, as learning from their own mistakes, people
would not be likely to relapse into the same error for the second time like they did in the past. "Once beaten twice shy." is the saying that vividly describe this situation. Hence, the actions doers could
minimize the risk for failures to reoccur in the future. After
confronting with unsuccessful actions, people could become more aware and conscious of every step they take to prevent any potential bad outcome.
On the one hand, succession gives man top of the world feelings
as their goals achieved. Most successful people say that their today's success come from lessons of yesterday's mistakes. Through many trial and error progresses, successes comes back to back for them.
On the other hand, successes could become a blinder to the
winners, as people normally don't tend to look inside the success and find as many lessons as they do with the failures. In another words, people skip learning from successes as being overwhelmed with joys in the smell of victory. Nevertheless, successes obviously gives man the momentum and aspiration for the tomorrow's success.
In summary, providing that failures would not inspire people and sometimes they results in negative responses. However,
failures could benefit man in many cases to puzzle out ways to succeed in their actions. Because momentous lessons and experiences could be gained through man's mistakes.
